I'm at the office, I work alone so no crowding problem here and I'm deemed essential but phones don't ring and the businesses who were supposed to send off payments are closed and can't open for another 13 days...I am waiting on a little over $10k so these businesses better not close their doors for good....
Strange aside question. Have you seen an uptick in colleagues up there starting to charge hourly rate for initial consultations to get money in the door?

Courts are closed here, and all deadlines were automatically extended in all cases.

Thing is, better half was attacked in school by a kid pre-closure in feb. Neurologist tried clearing her, but a $$hats at the county have screwed her every step of the way violating just about every lay your imagine. Tried reaching out to some employment lawyers and they're asking 750, 1000, or more up front just to talk. I know I never charged for an initial consult, and neither had anyone I knew of (then again, they were employment types either )

I think everyone else is in the same boat I'm in, 6 feet apart from each other of course,. My phone had been dead, I have gotten 2 prospective new clients since March 13. I always kept a low overhead so I should be able to survive and do mostly civil cases Most of the paralegals stick to traffic tickets cause that field of law is not as complicated and less time consuming than civil cases. The traffic guys have alot of competition. Some have offices in a bunch of different cities to compete with the rest and I'm wondering how many of them are going to make it. I do some traffic cases but they are all from referrals.

For employment matters, wrongful dismissal or wrongful hiring I charge a minimal fee to cover disbursements after the interview to see if there is a valid case. I take my fee after the case is over and judgement satisfied. For everything else I charge for consultations. I have a few corporated clients who I fund the disburd=sement sfor and bill them at stages in the proceeding. I'm surprised you're better half was not covered by insurance for that event. I would think that issue would come under tort and not an employment matter.

The courts here have done the same thing, for the traffic matters they have a list online with dates matters from particular dates were adjourned from but who know if those dates are going to work. Limitations Act has been put on hold so.

I pulled the cover off today and I'm finally going to put this starter in. I was parking on a hill so if it wouldn't start I could bump start it. Sure will be nice to turn the key and have it fire up again. 20200326_104148_HDR.jpg 20200326_104409_HDR.jpg

Decided it was time to mate the body and frame this weekend finally after wanting to get this done a month ago haha had no excuses anymore. Was also wanting to order some small parts from Dixie restoration or mikes montes like my fuel tank straps but shipping is close to 30$, is this normal or is it because of this whole virus thing? OPGI and Classic Industries are in Cali so no shipping at all for now. Might hit my junk yard for a pair and just blast them and coat them if I can find some idk, anyways stay safe everyone!

Not running the kids around, or going out myself. Getting my interior back in finally, new carpet, sound deadening, rear seat bace (3/4" EMT pipe, welded & powder coated), 2003 MCSS Earnhardt seats going in. Have the brackets already welded in, seats dyed & bottom upholstery put on 85MCSS bottom seat foam. I have the front ones done as well, just not putting them in yet (seats have been done for a couple years, were sitting in my basement)

Check rockauto on the tank straps, should cost less all around.

But I am working at my job right now. Morning, noon, and night. Plus, I need to factor in the needs of my family on top of this.

It is f*cking BS how work refuses to relent on its pace or reassign staff to support. Sucks being the only person available to do your work.

The next person who complains about what they are getting for "their tax dollars" is receiving a throat punch.
