I’m thinking Umi 2” lowering springs? Any thoughts guys

in my personal experience Ramey's a stand up guy.99% of my suspension is from UMI and the customer experince was solid @ the time.the spring is an issue but devil's advocate here springs are hardly a one size fits all.an iron headed sbc with a/c vs an alumiumn headed without heat/a/c etc etc.if front springs were as easy to change as say the rear ones it wouldn't be as much of a pain to r&i them and mess with trimming coils and the like.

The more I’ve been reading I think I’m going with the 5658 moog front springs. Possibly a 1/2 spring taking out after they settle. Does anyone know what a good rear spring would be. I think I want to go f body spring so I can trim to level with the front. I’m hoping to hear back from someone who did a similar set up. My fender height sit at 26” in the front and 26.5” in the back now with the stock springs. I am trying to keep this fender height. Hope to hear some feedback. Thanks guys.

I used the 5661 Citation/Phoenix rear spring which is pigtail on the bottom end and open on the top. I used the F body isolater on top which is open in the center that fits the bubble for the upper pigtail. The isolator is made with a channel for an open spring so you can cut it to the height you want

What front springs did you use and did you cut them at all.

That’s with your Grand Prix right. It the ride too stiff now. 1/4 coil equals 10% more stiffness in the spring rate? Right or was it 1/2 spring equals 10%. That’s why I was thinking of starting with 5658 spring. Some people going with 5660 to start off thought. So many choices. Thanks for your input.

I don't find it a rough ride but that is my impression. I built the car for the highway and the faster I go the smoother it feels but that won't get me out of a ticket....as far as trying to calculate your would need to know the length of the coiled wire so you can calulate the percentage of what was removed. It's basically the longer the wire the more leverage, the shorter the wire the harder you have to push so the higher spring rate. I I wanted to know the spring rate I would have them measured. I wanted the car lowered and less suspension travel plus I wanted to have my tie rod arms parallel to the the lower control arm

Cutty Shark, have you seen this chart? http://jeffd.50megs.com/Moog_Spring_Page.htm Notice there are at about seven different front springs for G-bodies,with only two spring rates. Apparently GM just changed free height to adjust for various weight/option/equipment combinations. Kinda like trimming aftermarket springs to adjust ride height🤔. As a side note, I liked the way my car's handling improved after changing springs, but the front springs had to much rebound for the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks I was using. i added Ridetech single adjustable shocks recently and am very pleased with the improved control.

This chart has been the basis of my research for the past month. I originally seen this on this site and is why I became a member to talk about g body’s here. As with all the different setups I know mine will be similar but totally different than everyone. Just trying to get a good baseline to start from. Thanks for all who have added here and in other post here.
