PLEASE WATCH... WHAT IS MAKING ALL THIS NOISE

NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE A WATCHING THIS THREAD BUT... i have been having crazy transmission issues, first revs out, have to back out of it to get it to drop into second, barely give it any gas in second or she slips and acts as if in nuetral... i have been adding fluid and lucas trans fix, and letting any extra fluid drain out of the overflow tube... the fluid has ALWAYS been clean, no particulates, and not burnt... i had her up on ramps the other day trying to diagnose a noise, but while on the ramps i replaced the old worn out, frayed, stretched, broken clip, tv cable with a new UNIVERSAL TV CABLE... i know, i know, universal sucks... but, i had purchased it a while back for a different vehicle n never used it... but anyways, after replacing the tv cable, and adjusting it properly, or at least i think i did it properly, cause now she actually shifts... BUT, i didnt get up on it too hard cause it sounds like i may have a rod knock... gonna drop the pan and see if any are loose, if so, going to just replace the bearing and hope she holds together... worse case scenerio, she doesnt hold together and i have to put in the 400 sbc i just got...

Last time I saw this it was because a check ball in the valve body was put in the wrong hole when a shift kit was added - pretty much identical issues.

Jim

THIS WAS IN MY OIL... GONNA SWAP OUT THE 350 FOR A 400 SBC SO I CAN KEEP DRIVING, AND I WILL TEAR DOWN THE 350 TO SEE HOW BAD THE DAMAGE IS...

Ouch, is that just bearing material? Does a magnet pick it up?

I dont know what its from, i was going to drop the oil pan and find out then realised there is bo way of doing that with the engine in the car cause the crossmember is right below the pan... i'm trying to save up $ as fast as possible fpr any upcoming fixes... really trying to get my hands on a decent 350 block in south west connecticut for a decent price...

and the magnet thing, is that a trick i dont know?

NOT SURE IF I MENTIONED IT BEFORE SOOOO, i bought all new WEATHERSTRIPPING for my mcss... $$$kaching kaching kaching$$$... have not installed them yet, hell i havent really installed anything yet... but the weather is getting warm, a couple nice 50° days... As we all know, PLANS CHANGE... i originally was going to pull the motor and make her a 383, BUT ya cant make a 305 into a 383... i thought the motor in the car was a 350, but after actually working on it, i found it to be a 305... yeah, i know, im a giant jackass... but anyways, i am looking into getting a new motor from scinto in stratford, ct... if they have anything worth buying, i'll buy it... the motor would of already been out but harbor freight didnt have any engine stands in stock, so i have to drive way out to orange,ct to get one... once i have it, i will pull the motor and start breaking her down to see how bad i messed her up, but even if its not too bad i dont want to keep it, its a built 305... sure it has more power than most of the 350's ive driven, but its still a 305... hell, i thought it was a 350 when i bought the car... stupidity hurts....
