It has to be from a 90's and I believe up to 2001 jeep cherokee, NOT Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Try Contacting GBoz on here he normally has some cleaned and painted for sale. https://gbodyforum.com/members/g-boz.2298/

Just have to put a small notch in it for the bolt to go through. I bought mine from GBoz a while ago. Fast shipping and nicely cleaned up and painted!! I can't remember what I paid but it wasn't much at all. Makes a huge difference in steering feel, definitely a small but worthy upgrade.

you can use a shaft from a 2 wheel drive Astro/Safari van with simple modifications and they are easier to find

You know I'm searching here too for the same answer. What is so special or what do you gain by switching to a jeep shaft, or any shaft. Is it a clearance thing?

basically, the jeep/Astro shafts use U joints (like a drive shaft), to eliminate slop and gives you better handling and a more tighter feel.
The stock rag joint wears over time creating play in the wheel/steering...
