for about a solid 4 seconds i thought you sanded your car down for no reason

i wish I had the room to lift my car like that. for now, I'm stuck with this. Fine enough, I can get to everything I need.

Thanks D.

I wish I could get away with only lifting the car up that high.

Took a bit of a break from the floors and went back to the firewall. I cleaned up the worst rust from my patch panel and I rust morted the firewall just in the area where I will be welding my patch. My only goal right now with it is to prepare the area that will be overlapped by the patch panel (which will also receive rust through primer).

The rest will get rust morted when I'm closer to epoxying which won't be until after the floors are welded in. I think. That's the plan for now. My donor panel has some pits and rust of its own but it's what I've got so I'll work with it. It'll be getting rust morted too once it's welded in place.

Put several more hours into the Regal today. Got my firewall patch panel burned in. Used a wet scotchbrite to remove the excess Rust Mort then dried it and sprayed weld thru primer on both pieces. Fits pretty well, I do need to massage a couple spots yet. I'm starting to get a feel for this MIG and so far I like it.

I also got a lot more of the floors out. The sides are now completely disconnected from the inner rockers. I need to drill out the spotwelds along the firewall pinch weld and figure out how I'm gonna handle the trans tunnel at the rear seat. I think these pans are for an El Camino so they are a little different in the back.

Now I can kinda get a better look at this area. I still need to do some more automotive archeology with a body hammer on it-

Got over to the junkyard today with UC645 and pagrunt and sawzall'd the living daylight out of that Grand Prix. These pieces are in great shape. I've got a lot of spot welds to drill but I believe I have all the metal I need to patch up the floor area.

And as a bonus I got a factory jack, lug wrench and all the hardware to go with it.
