Why an Hpipe?
They sound better than x-pipes to me.

case in point, i had this Shelby for 24 hours thursday to Friday. It had some blower stuff done, but otherwise was pretty close to the same as my old one, except it just didnt sound as good. They insisted over and over the exhaust was stock. It turned out that everything in the exhaust was stock except the prwvious owner swapped the catted h-pipe for a catted x-pipe.

totally ruined the sound. It was raspier up top which was nice, but down low it was higher pitched and tinny.

solidified my desire to get an H.

until the turbo.....

I'm partial to the sound of an x myself, but it depends on the motor. On my C5 Z06 going from factory h to aftermarket x was night and day, WOT is a lot more shrill while cruising is still mild. I should concede that the x came with long tubes as well, so not quite apples and oranges.

Header clearance is incredibly poor and ive already banged the pass side header hard enough to cause a slight exhaust leak at one of the slip tubes.

it should be noted my car is extremely low. Its practically riding on (or may actually be) riding on the bumpstops after the big block swap. Im going to get some s10 coils in it, trim a couple of coils, and raise it up a little bit. An additional 1.5” of clearance would really help, as would the additional rebound stiffness.

Post a pic of the tips and what was his actual excuse for not being able what you wanted

If both your rides are making the same noise CHANGE YOUR OIL BRAND!!!!!

Fram filters are GARBAGE

Richard Holdener fake TV U tube $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I would recommend Hooker Super Comp mufflers along with the 2455 header

Slip tube headers are blah and often leak

My Malibu is low and I never bottomed out and hit the headers.

I like in NY there are potholes everywhere

I will shortly. He said i couldnt put longer than 18” tips on it because they would be too long and stick way out. I told him i wanted him to cut the tail pipe back basically to the bend and show as little of the raw pipe as possible. I ended up with an 18” tip that looks like its bolted to 6” of galvanized fence post.

The charger was a previous car that was serviced by the dealership, i paid them for synthetic oil changes, it was my second bad experience with a high performance Mopar. No more unless its a Viper.

Fram filters are GARBAGE

it was just being used for 100 miles as part of a “flush.” I’ve also used to use fram filters on all of my vehicles until i started going with Mobil 1 filters, then the quality on them declined, I never hd a problem with fram filters.
This was my first time using any stp products. I dont know if i have any recourse with them, i doubt they are going to seriously entertain lifting a finger to help me when they see that the engine had 140k miles on it.

Richard Holdener fake TV U tube $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I agree with you when he does his “speed secrets” stuff, but he has a personal channel in his name now that no brands are affiliated with. He’s affiliated with Westech. Those guys are straight shooters.

I would recommend Hooker Super Comp mufflers along with the 2455 header

i started my exhaust saga with 2455’s. Like 3 or 4 posts up i recapped my experience with them. The 2455’s drivers side only fit after i “clearanced” several spots. The passenger side header was unworkable. It was making contact in so many places i basically had to mangle them beyond recognition, and i never even got them on. I would have hd to cut a primary tube off of it and re-run it.

Slip tube headers are blah and often leak

meh. Most headers leak. These didnt leak at all and i was super happy with the fitment. I think i can get them to stop leaking, they probably need a aecond pass of torque on the bolts now that ive driven it a little bit, which is sop with all headers. The issue with my headers isnt quality orfitment, its that i believe my car is now dropped 4” in the front and 3 in the rear, so the

My Malibu is low and I never bottomed out and hit the headers.

For what you're going to spend on an unknown short block, you could just get the crank ground and throw some rings and bearings in there. The story sounds all too familiar (same happened on my Series 2 swap).
