565 that is definitely better for handling, weight transfer etc.
Lilbowtie that is tucked up and out of the way..... Lots of options

Weight transfer yes, handling no. It's too far behind the rear axle for that. If I were a betting man, handling isn't the #1 priority for 565 so this location serves him well. One could also argue lilbowtie's location raises the CG. Of course I'm splitting hairs here. Unless you're super competitive on a road course none of that is gonna matter. We're I to relocate mine, I'd likely stick it where 565 did. With an iron big block over the nose this thing is never gonna turn hard enough to impress anyone.

I had mine up on the flat area between the tires, but with the stock 4 link tendency to pull the passenger side whee into the wheel well on launch it was always recommended in the passenger rear. I even had it in that corner in my backhalved chevelle. Went low 1.20’s in 60’ with it there.

The one thing I learned from my crash was if you are using an electric fuel pump, only use a plastic strap to hold the battery in. I don't care what the track safety guy tells you, in rollover, you WANT the battery to be thrown out of the car. My motor and fuel pump were shut off in the first of 8 or so rolls. With a steel strap holding the battery in, fuel could have sprayed everywhere before I would able to shut the pump off.

I had the wind knocked out of me and had two shattered vertebrae, On the incar video it was at least 20 seconds before I would have been able to shut the ignition off (and the car was even upright). It was another 25 minutes before I was carried out of the car on a backboard. The best roll cage in the world won't keep you from burning to death. My car had a full fire suppression system and I had a fire extinguished mounted in between the seats, but having nothing on when the car came to a stop was the greatest unexpected safety feature the car had.

The battery was 150 feet from the car and still works.

Wow. I hope you have recovered since the accident. Was this on a road course or dragstrip?
