GM, its almost time (been over a year at this build) to mate the 4l80e to my built LQ9. The LQ9 has a l8t crank so it is an 8 bolt flexplate, which i have. and i picked up a TC for that application aswell. My question is this, what is the spacing? im reading a lot online but most mention th400- LS and im not sure if i should be running a spacer i seen online aswell. Anyone have any experience with this? TIA FYI i have progress pics of this car on instagram at ss__johnny up to date if youd like to see it.

Do you mean between the converter and the flexplate?

I mean between flexplate and engine, flexplate and TC , and TC and transmission. Apparently I need to check the two outsides (engine to FP, and TC to trans) to make sure the TC and FP are good.

To answer your question tho.. is the back of the crank pretty much flush with the seal on the back cover?

Can you post a picture of what flexplate you have.
Tci I’ll get a pic of it. Haven’t received engine back yet
