Need help with wiring for this mirror.

Made by Donnelly? Mirror is from a 93 Blazer and has the rocker switched maplights.

I have 4 wires orange, black, pink w/black stripe, and white

If I ground black and power orange (constant12v), lights come on, but stay on.
I don't know how the pink and white wires come in to play. I know white is usually for illumination(switched) but didn't attempt to run that to a switched source. No clue on the pink/black stripe.

Any help appreciated.

when the orange is hooked up that should give constant power to the lites so you need to turn the lites off by the switches on the mirror. The white wire is to activate the lites by the door switch. The pink/black strip wire is for another option. Does the mirror have a small screen on the right side of the mirror near the top? If it does that's for the outside temp and you'll need a sensor

I think I tried the switches and the lights stayed on when wired the way I tried. I thought the same thing because that's how the lighted vanity visors work. I remeber thinking WTF? when the switches did nothing.

This mirror is basic but for the maplights. No autodim or compass or any of that sh*t (that I know of)

Wish I had paid more attention when I pulled it. I've googled the sh*t out of this and can't find anything close to this wiring config.

I think you have the white wire right, but wtf is pink/black for? It was wired to something in the truck for sure.

I've never actually done this before but I did stay in a holiday inn last night,
lmao
recently I installed a newer stereo and orange was the illumination. Just thought I would add my 2 cents worth...
I believe (thinking of my 93 Buick Regal) the lights get power all the time (for when you get the urge to hit the switch) also when the interior lights come on, AND they stay on for 30 seconds after the door has been opened or shut (helps you find ignition in the dark)
Each of your wires has to do something........

The pink one is new to me, but I have several of these mirrors in various configurations lying around so I may have to look at them and see if I can figure it out. The simple ones I have with just the lights only have three wires: Orange, White and Black. I would tape off the extraneous wire and hook up those three to see what it does. The one I ended up using has the LED map lights, compass and auto dim and I think that one had 5 wires, 4 of which I actually used ( I left off the green which works when the car is in reverse). Anyhow, the White is grounded only when the door pin switches are activated and it needs to be hooked up for the lights under the mirror to work in conjunction with the interior light circuit. Hook that in to the white wire on the dome light circuit. DO NOT HOOK THE WHITE WIRE TO A POSITIVE SOURCE!!! GM switched the negative on these cars, not the positive so it is opposite of what you would think it is. I ran wires off the dome light in the roof to run my mirror's orange and white wires, but you can also access these wires behind the A pillar molding on the driver's side as well. I had the headliner out at the time and it was easier. You have the orange and black ones correct as the orange is constant positive and the black constant ground.

especially in the 80's, GM liked to use the pink and pink/black as the main power source.

K, thanks guys. I'll try this after work today (I hope) and see what I come up with.
Meantime, if anybody comes up with an explanation for the pink with black stripe wire, please post. 🙂

K, so the way I wired this is as follows...

Orange- 12v constant
Pink/Black Stripe- 12v constant
White- 12v switched/illumination
Black- ground

Works well, got shitloads of light in there now 🙂
