I don't think the Monte Carlo fenders will line up with the wagon's forward door edge. It sounds like alot more metal work ahead.

One thing that you might not be aware of-the Monte Carlo front nose piece is approximately 1 1/2" wider than a Malibu nose. I noticed the overhang of the Monte front fascia past the front fenders. Since your Cutlass is much the same as a Malibu, you might want to look into getting the front nose piece for an El Camino SS, and if necessary, you could substitute Malibu front fenders in order to make the front conversion work. Check online for a company in the States called Honest Charley's. They carry replacement front fascias for the El Camino SS, as well as other related parts. Another company to check out is Lauren Engineering in California. They manufacture a Camaro IROC style nose piece for a Malibu. It looks a bit different than the El Camino SS nose piece, but still kind of neat. Good luck with your project. Keep the pictures coming.
Don`t see any other good places to put som lamps, LED strips is not leagle in Norway. Lots of things I want to do, but can`t becaus of the law. Apparently we make so manny cars that we know better than the manufacturers. Those of you who thought California was strictly for cars, you shud try Norway. Carparts leagel in California and rest of the states is not leagel i Norway, becaus it`s not safe enough. :?1979ratrod said:cant wait to see that rear bmper when its done, idk about the lights tho, maybe somewhere else and make it look almost like a roll pan

i believe the El Camino SS nose from Honest Charley (Choo-Choo Customs) would bolt right up to the Malibu fenders. However, the front bumper would need to be modified by cutting the ends off to fit the nose and add strength and rigidity to the nose panel. and the downside is that they're not cheap.
I do like the 2010 Camaro style taillights. I think they would look good. I can't think of any other taillight configuration that would look and fit a wagon properly. You certainly can't add taillights to the rear quarter sections on the wagon like you can do to the El Camino. So it doesn't allow you many options, but to use the bumper to house the lights.
Another question. With the bumper tucked up closer to the body, is there enough space for the tailgate to open? It does look kinda close.

Had you started with a Chevy or Pontiac wagon, you'd be way ahead of the game as opposed to an Olds or Buick.
The problem is the lower body line that runs the length of the car.
Olds and Buick go inward, while the Chevy and Pontiac go outward.
To get the nose on and looking right, you're going to have to cut the front of the Monte fenders off and graft them onto the Cutlass wagon fenders.
You've got a lot of work ahead of you, but it looks like you're got what you need to pull it off!
