I don't, nor have I ever owned a donk. I had a '94 Impala SS which I just sold in May. I sold it with the 22s on it and kept my stock SS wheels for my '96 Caprice cause they've got new Nitto DOT drag radials on them. It had a digital dash, as does my '96. I hit 147 on a nice, long stretch of road not far from my house. I did it on more than one occasion. Yes I'm aware of the speedo difference between stocks and my rims.
That may be fast to you, but I've been faster than that on a long stretch of highway in another car.

let me know when you leave that fantasy world your living in...till then your just a waste of my time. There are plenty of guys on here with whom I can discuss issues with these cars and can tell me a few new things and I hope I can help them out. Your so full of it it's not even funny...

Maybe you should stick topics that you actually have experience with. When it come to big wheels you obviously know nothing from personal hands-on experience.

unlike yourself I can read and understand what I am reading....I don't have to experience something to understand it. I set up race cars with scaling the car and setting up the wedge. From tire pressures and temps at the inside, middle and outside of the tire I can tell you if the car is tight or if it's loose. One thing that is common knowledge is that it is very hard to balance large wheels but you wouldn't know that since you can't even tell the difference between a car with stock tires and a car with 22" wheels. :blam:

and you heard about that physics we mentioned in here...here's a sample of the calculations we make to set the car...guess what's that about...see if you understand anything in this link...

Definition of Donk on urban dictionary. Not that i feel this is true but quite funny "Any POS late 80's or early 90's American heap (preferably an Impala) that has large enough wheels installed until it resembles (and rides and handles like) a Conestoga wagon.''

considering all the termoil becasue of a simple question maybe i should have left out the donk option from the title. It seems that any time a topic comes up regarding donks its a huge fight so now lets get back to the topic at hand i started this thread to see what people are interested in not what people think they know or do know. So can we all get back on topic and explane as to why we prefer the style we do such as pros and cons .PS Qdub i already know you'll probly say donks not a style its a car like you always do, but im just putting it out there the threads continued to call them donks so its not gonna change ok simple as that not trying to be a dick just trying to get this thread back on track.

I pick option 4.... Sleeper. 8)

Just FYI for ya Qdub....
I have been involved in and been drag racing since I was born and been doing it since I was old enough to drive. I have driven everything from stock street cars to comp eliminator door cars to super comp dragsters to alcohol funny cars so I can assure you that you do not need to question how fast I have been in comparison to your 147 mph on a long stretch of road. I have been faster than that in the first 1/8th mile of the track. My last dragster I had ran 8.40's in the 1/4 at about 160-165 mph and the one before that ran 7.30's in the 1/4 at about 190-195mph.
To put it in a more simple term that you may be able to understand.... imagine yourself sitting at a redlight at a dead stop. The light turns green and you floor it. Now, 7.3 seconds later, you are going 190mph.
Hopefully you get the idea now.
Years ago Don Garlits (if you know who he is) done some testing with a big wheeled dragster (larger rim and smaller tire) and quickly discovered that it did not work.
Now if it did not work for him.... what makes you think it will work for anyone else??

Now back to the topic.... I like the hotrods and pretty much any good clean modified car that is done with taste.

I've been 147mph on 22s and didn't feel any different than when I did the same mph in the same car on stocks.

if that is true then you really should stop driving since you don't have a clue on what the car is doing.....you must be like those people who drive with one tire almost flat and they are oblivious to it....

What are you talking about sir? I didn't have any issues with my car at that speed. It didn't do anything abnormal.

By the way, a flat tire is very noticeable with a skinny/low profile tire. Been there done that too.

My buddies daily driver is a 97 240sx with a sr20det swap. 4500 in coilover upgrades and 18 inch wheels. lsd rear end sway bar and brake upgrades. wouldnt want to do 150 in it. you have balls if your doing that in any car thats not made to do it. On another note i dont like big rims unless they are tucked up nicely. I think another reason rims get a bad name is because of the terrible paint jobs and interiors that come along with them
