My 1988 Cutlass resto project

Putting some work on the Gutlass. Doing some wet sanding cutting and buffing. Wet sanded with 1500, 3000, then 5000, followed by Meguiar’s 105 and 205. The body shop didn’t put the time into wet sand so I figured what the hell I will give it a try, it’s coming out pretty good so far.

Got my center console refinished, I don’t have the car back yet, hope early next week before I deploy. I have new carpet to replace the Crappy one and going to install the center console along with the mounts. My question should I leave the shift plate and ash tray lighter then the rest of the console or just repaint it the darker gray. I was going to paint the dash wood trim the darker gray to bring the darker gray into the dash. I also was going to dye my bucket seats to match the dash and rear seat. Am I putting to many different color grays together? The carpet is as close to the factory medium dark gray as I could get. I also wrapped the arm rest with headliner fabric I had left over. Guess I will see how it looks when I get it installed. I forgot to post the before pictures m, so I added them at the end

Wish I could offer an opinion but my ability to design and coordinate is very limited. Do what you think and want

Anyone have the measurements on where to put the brackets for the center console. I was a idiot and didn’t take measurements before I cut them off parts car

Took these measurements when I removed center console brackets from my 84 Cutlass parts car. Hope this makes sense and helps.
