I looked carefully, I don't see any obvious leaks. It appears to mostly be where the driver and passenger's feet would be. No puddles, just damp. I'll check it with a hose before I put the carpet back in.

Don't worry Jared, i know that rust might be totalled by Texas standards but this is what we consider light rust in PA 😁
Not totalled but dang, the floors in the Camaro were cleaner than that when we pulled it down in 2008. Your truck looks pretty clean. I'd be surprised if that's from wet feet but you're right, I know nothing about daily driving in snow.

I wonder if some CLR might help with the rust stains. Tynan is a little crybaby beeotch. Carpet looks better already.

Ever thought of a winter vacation up this way to learn the fun winter driving? You'll drive like a pro during a snow storm (or what we call a dusting) in Houston. 😉
Not on your life bud. I didn't get to play in the snow when I was a kid. I don't want anything to do with it now. Our mid June to mid September is rough but I know how to deal with it.

Keep nasty rust! Ahhhhhh!

Personally I think driving in the snow is a blast. Parking lot snow donuts never get old.

Got the rust cut out and one patch welded in. My welding helmet is shot, can't adjust the brightness and its way too dark to see anything. Gonna have to pick up a new one. I used the old tailgate for donor patch panels. I started having Vietnam F150 flashbacks with this stuff.

Here is how the carpet is looking after drying overnight. It's still damp. It's a major improvement but still stained. I might try Driven's CLR suggestion.

Nice progress. Either way, I'd probably stay with that carpet. It fits and it's paid for. Also, now it doesn't stink.

Thanks, I agree, for the purposes of this truck it's gonna be fine. It's much better than it was and doesn't actually gross me out.

Bonus points for color matched patch panels.

Pro tip- junk parts make the best donor metal.
