Interested in the distributor cap, please tell me more as I have a 8.1w/4l80 in the garage that I'm propably gonna put in a 88 4wd Chevy one ton crew cab(obs)that I just bartered for a c10 I just finnised with a 5.3/4l60.

Hey guys sorry I haven't given a update in a few months. The mechanic I have doing the work is basically taking his damn time and putting my car on the back burner. Ive been up there several times talking to him about the progress. At first we working together as far as me getting the parts he needed as he got deeper into the swap. I was giving him a few hundred here and there and I ended up giving him all the money before he finished to get it out the way and I regret I did cause now he's taking his time. He still has to run the harness, fuel lines, hoses, swap a pulley out, radiator, electric fan, mount the gas pedal in the cab, and install a new oil pump. I got him every part mentioned. Smh.
And as far as the carb set up. Dart makes a intake manifold for the 8.1 that has the spot for the cap and rotor in the back of the engine like a old school motor and the camshaft has the cam gear to run the cap and rotor. No need for any electronics. But you would need a separate controller for the 4L80 if you want to run it or resort to a th400

Hey guys. It's almost done. My mechanic had been slacking but he's finishing it up now.

i was wondering if you had the driveline made or did you pull it off another car a got it shorten?
I used the stock driveshaft. I purchased a 4L80 trans slip yoke and had it installed on the stock driveshaft when I had it cut

I ended up using a B&M super cooler for the oil cooler and had some hoses made. It's really close. It's really close now. It's super expensive but hopefully I can have lots of fun with reliability.
