The 8.1/4l80e is finally complete. I had to spend a unexpected 5000 on a complete rebuild after the engine spun two rod bearings after the initial install. I'm extremely happy with the power and overdrive transmission combined with the 3.73s. I still need to get some bugs worked out light my headlights and blinkers not working. Also i need to figure out what springs use up front, the 8.1 is heavy and has my front really sagging.

I installed Moog 5610 springs in the front of my car, and it returned me to stock ride height.

You used 5610 for a big block? Are the 5610 stiff?

And how is the 5662? I'm looking for a stiff ride as possible. I read the 5664 are a good choice for a firm ride, is that true?

5662s are 749lbs/in. You may want to max out with a big block.

Really cool conversion my old truck had an 8.1 and it was awesome. I always thought it would be great in a car
