Does the engine turn over?
Hey Turna; the engine doesn't turn over.

Nothing happens. However, the old starter was tested after I pulled it and failed. The engine was running like a top last week; no pings or loud combustion noises. Temp was good.

I'm just thinking I either somehow managed to screw up a menial task, or there is something up with the electrical. I'm thinking it's the former, based on how the rules of life work. I have to get back under it this weekend when the rain subsides and get it ready for its journey to its final garaged destination (if I can get it running).

Will the engine turn over by hand?

Just wondering if the engine locked up with it possibly overheating.

There are only 3 wires that go to the starter not much to mess up there unless a fusible link popped.

I was afraid of that being the case. However, the old starter was bad, and the starter motor won't engage. Might be a fuse link. I'm gonna have to check to see if engine will crank by hand

That would suck less than 30 days from acquiring.

Better to happen now than after you dump a ton of $$ into it.

I suppose; hopefully I'll have it running this weekend, and I just botched something, or it's a fuse link. IR Thermometer seemed to be running at a pretty good temp all things considered. And I did replace the thermostat, hoses, flushed all coolant and fluids.

Ok...a new chapter in my saga. I have replaced my bad starter, and have soldered in all new wires, as I blew a fuse link. Car now starts. However, in order to install the new starter, I had to remove the exhaust hookup from the drivers side; as well as the EFE valve, which I've included a picture of. Needless to say, it's nearly impossible to get this f'er back in, as it bolts to both the exhaust and the manifold simultaneously, which requires me to have 8 hands and a degree in surgical medicine. First question: is this necessary to be functioning, as I don't believe it was hooked up to a vacuum system of any sort when I pulled it out; if it was, would it have been a solid piece or a hose? 2. How in the F does anyone get these things back in? I've tried for hours, and I may just set it all on fire.

I've also removed it, most are no good after all these years, the downside, is the factory pipe doesn't always fit back on.
