The vent shouldn't be blocked because when I turned the trans over it poured out through the vent. My garage is a disaster zone lol.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I'm currently waiting for the sealant on the gasket to set up and a buddy to help me put it in. Hopefully I will know if I fixed my problem by tomarow.

Hopefully it was just the convertor here, otherwise it sounds like it's not building up enough pressure, which could be a multitude of internal issues.
TH 400's are great when done right, but I had a long string of bad rebuilds with one in a panel truck before someone got it right.
But no sense in worrying too much bout all that till you try it with the new convertor.
Also agree with autonaut on fill it up slowly.

Well I got the trans in and everything hooked up. I put a new filter and gasket in it while it was out and im waiting to start it tomarow so I can let the sealant on the gasket and dip stick set up. That and I ran out of beer so tomarow night after work I will jump back at it and hopefully have a verdict. If the problem persists im taking it out and sending it to the local trans shop.
