i have to say that wagon is coming out really good.. i want to paint my elcamino myself but i lack experience in body work and paint... KEEP up the good work.

Thanks

as far as experience goes, there is only one way to get it. inexpensive hand tools and supplies can get you some practice to see if it is for you. Try it on something small before the Elco!

i think i will this weekend i have alot of junk laying around...

Well so much for cheap tail lights. I started to get concerned the lights wouldn't be visable enough. So go to LED right? Saw this and had to have them. http://www.customclassic.com/products/l ... eville.htm They put white and amber at each end of the lense as well. If I had removed the license plate bucket from the gate like Dirtywhiteboy I would have installed a cobalt 3rd brake light. But since I already painted the jams of the gate I really don't want to start hacking it up. So I will be without the 3rd brake light and rely on just the LED Caddy lights. As far as a build thread goes. I'm half done already. Besides if I spent anymore time on this site posting pics I would never get done!

looking like one sweet ride. ive had like 5 wagons in the past 10 years, i shouldve kept every stinkin one of them. :blam:

As for the Caddy tail lights. I know which ones now. They are a popular light, and are usually gone from the Cad's I see in the boneyard. I've seen them used in many custom applications.
I think they would look cool in a wagon/ Elky bumper in place of the stock lens housings.
It's too bad the wagon didn't have a wider area in the rear of the quarter panels like the El Camino.

That's a cool tunnel boat. What powers it?

Hey Frank, I have both a old JC Whittney and a newer Harbor Freight both gravity feed HVLP. Both do a pretty good job when properly cleaned and set up. My dad can lay down a mirror finish with any gun once he gets it adjusted.......but not me, the sandpaper is my friend

Thanks Jack

it is a N/A 598c.i. BBC 795 hp

here is a clip that my cousin took last weekend......it sounds ok I guess

I bought the entire kit from jegs. Pretty sure it's a Dynomax kit....I want to say around 400 for headers, pipes, and mufflers.

Looks like they do not carry it any more

WTF! this thread was at the bottom of the page!?!

I finally got back to the wagon a little bit........I had to pull the POS cast aluminum timing cover due to the chain rubbing it
I just pulled a stock cover off a old engine on the stand cleaned it up and used it...guess what, it didn't rub

Going to have some time today to work on the rear bumper....I'm thinking the mount might be good for the "Obstructed Plate" ticket 8)
