New dual exhaust/emissions questions

Reading this and confused- I thought any car more than 25 years old is emissions exempt? What gives

It seems to be more complex then that I'm afraid.

Depends on the state, kind of. No emissions items are supposed to be removed, no matter the year. Some states don't have inspections, or stop them on cars over 25 years old so you can get away with. Until you get caught... Personally, ive been like this since 1992, not too worried about it. But it is a risk.

Just a mild 350hp SBC The muffler and tailpipe are a Flowmaster kit for a Buick GN. Reason I went with those was for ground clearance. Tired of having mufflers scrape.... plus it sounds good 🙂
