I just bought an 83 malibu wagon. It's got some work done to it and the focus right now is getting it on the road and inspected. Don't know much about the mechanics but do have a buddy that has built two hot rods and will be a great resource. I'll be checkin in with a bunch of questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome! and i like the name lol

Welcome and were feeling the wagon love lol

Welcome aboard fellow wagon guy!

Thanks. Love your icon, huge Simpsons fan. My wagon has had some work done on it. 350, 350 turbo trans, 3.73 posi rear, been told the previous owner ran a 13.9 in quarter mile, we'll see. Will post pictures once I pick up this week. A question, I am having problems getting anyone to accept it as a collector car in terms of insuring it. I mean I know it's not a "classic" but I might have to insure it as a regular car which is significantly more expensive. I talked to Haggerty and Grundy, neither would take it. Any ideas? :wtf:

I am really excited about the wagon. My Dad's got a 73 Malibu SS wagon, only made one year I think, kind of rare car. He hasn't done anything with it so I am trying to motivate him by me getting my own project! The grand plan would be to tub that wagon, drop a 383 stroker in it with some big meats and tear down the strip but that probably won't happen. If you know anyone interested it is just sitting there rusting away under a tarp in Pennsyltucky.

The '73 Malibu SS wagon is indeed a rarity. Please post some pics of it.

Jack

Jack,
I will see what I can do. The car hasn't been uncovered for years so not sure what it might look like. If I get some pics I will be sure to post. We are in York, PA.
