Are all of those photos from your '82 GN? If so, yes, you definitely have some work ahead of you. Once moisture gets into the insulation behind the dash, the firewall will rot out pretty badly. I had an '81 Cutlass wagon a few years ago, that was in similiar shape to your GN. Usually, O.E. sheetmetal is the best for replacement, as long as its clean, and in good condition. If your parts car is bad, then putting a 1 piece replacement floorpan in, might be the best way to go.

Yeah unfortunately the firewall is pretty bad. I think it started out as a debris problem in the drain by the wiper motor which in turn over time escalated to where it is now. I think the 1 piece floor will be a must.

Divorce court Grand National style. First time the body and frame have been separated since 1982

It is now safely inside. Going to finish removing the windshield which I tried to save but then it cracked so I decided just to finish it off. And finish removing what few parts are left, then will be the fun part of finding all the spot welds and drilling them out

Was just comparing the firewalls, the parts car one is perfect aside from some surface rust that will get treated when the time comes for now I’m going to apply some ospho. But notice how bad the original 82 one is.
