Hahahaha. No kidding. Hopefully I won't find anything else on my car that needs fixing. Gotta do floor pans tomorrow so I can put my new carpet in....
 
It's not terribly hard to replace. It's no big deal to lift the engine up a couple inches just to clear the oil pickup. On my Ford truck, you pretty much have to pull the motor out to replace the pan gasket. It's a PIA.
 
if you're running stock exhaust, you'll also have to deal with the crossover pipe....

I find it easier to install the seal if studs ad nuts are used. I had to chenge the oil pump a couple of years ago and the studs and nuts I was using made the job easier to keep the gasket in place
 
I agree with Steve (pontiacgp). If it were mine, I'd get the car up pretty high on stands whereI could get under it comfortably and do some cleaning. Mineral spirits works well since it will flash and leave a pretty dry surface. I've been using some surface cleaner (automotive paint prep) on my dad's car to get everything clean and dry. Once you get to that point, find the highest point getting wet. There's your leak. A telescoping mirror and a pinpoint LED flashlight are a big help with leak detection.
 
It is easy as other have mention, the pan gasket itself is easy but the front an back seals can be fun.

As pontiacgp mention first find out where its leaking. Most of the time it's the seals in my experience. Front seal 70% but back seal if it's a 4 speed.

If its the gasket first just try to re-torque the bolts, might work. If that's doesn't work ofcourse replace gaskets and seals. Which means lifting engine, undo engine mounts, remove crossover an take off distributor cap in case hits firewall.

If it's the seals, try to re-torque nuts/bolts. If still leaks try undoing front or back of pan without raising engine, with a putty knife work slowly between edge of seal an gasket, just a little gap an push some silicone gasket maker between, normally at edge where gasket meets seal but coat it all that you can, re-torque an hope. It's worked in pass for me but it might not every time.
 
Rear seal probably shot too. Replace the rope one with an AMC rear seal. Fel-pro part number BS40612, and run the Diesel oil pan gaskets

Damn guys! Seems like alot of stuff to move to get at it!! It has headers. And I just had the timing set, and new motor mounts put in 🤣
 
Had this car for maybe 3 months. Did all new parts from outer tie rod to outer tie rod.motor mounts. thermo, all new hoses, vac lines, plugs, wires, cap n rotor, ignition module, replaced rear axle. Got my new pan today, new carpet tomorrow, filters......im sure I'm missing more....
