Odd, even that mutt Q-Jet I picked up this summer has that rear port. Worse case get a two nipple threaded port or two port brass fitting to replace the one on the intake. Older Chevelles had ine with a threaded port for the brake booster & a hose nipple for the heater-A/C vac line.

Shouldnt this port BLUE ARROW be a constant manifold vacuum that can be used for the heater a/c controls?

I just have my '81 sevice manual handy & for that year it goes to a vac sensor. Not sure if would be constant.

Ok thank you

I figured it would be constant since it goes into the same place the brake vacuum would go

I was designing adapter bracket to do this and another guy on real olds power had the same idea so I stoped on mine and bought a set of his. I think his name is Larry but I don’t know if he still makes them or not and there way nicer than the ones I was doing myself If people on here are interested in sets we may be able to track him down on Facebook the crank pulley was the most modded thing I welded the center up turned it out to fit the olds balancer and redrilled the bolt holes
I really like that set up I would like to do 2 of them hope the price wasn't crazy you can pm me and maybe we can see if this guy has more or can make them

My qjet don't have that port either, however Buick had the foresight to have a threaded hole in the intake, brass fitting, and hardline for the brake line that runs along the backside of the block. I use the passenger front baseplate port for my HVAC, the driver's side port in the main body for my distributor (ported), large one in the base for PCV (buicks have a PCV in the intake, breather hole in the valve cover), and everything else plugged. Oh, if yours has it, the large one up top is the bowl vent for the charcoal canister.

The pass side ported port looks like it was sealed up?!? Don't you have a vacuum gauge? It will identify which are manifold or ported vacuum pretty simply. The ported vacuum port varies from brand to brand but the two on the front lower float bowl are usually ported. As for the brake booster if the threaded hole is not at the rear of the throttle body just drill and tap for one. The casting is the same regardless. The rear port you showed is often used for the transmission vacuum modulator but any manifold port can be used for that or the heater controls. A neat item is the fitting Pontiac used for several years. It has the brake booster port and several manifold ports all in one convenient fitting.
