Is your balancer keyed or drilled?

In other words, curious minds want to know, how did you index it to the crank?

Balancer is Keyed but crank is not.

I calibrated my highly custom piece of bent coat hanger to the balancer with it at tdc. I did press the balancer on to where I generally wanted it though. Didn't just ram it on and send it.

Finished up the motor today.

Started by taking the 317 heads to the local car wash to try and clean them up. Very trick.
Got them home, dried them off and cleaned up the head gaskets, copper sprayed and installed.

Did the razor blade head cleanup, then gave the decks a scuff with a sanding block and some 220grit.

Lubed up the head studs and torqued it down.

Then I decided to mock up the intake.

Gonna have to do some trimming on the coil mounts but I like it. Nice and low, looks really clean too.

Seems like a win. Time to get back to frame mods.

And at least give that damn thing a coat of paint while it’s out!!!

Gold looks great but riles up our Olds purist friends.
