I have never found a cheaper one of these that cut straight!

What is planned Certification for the cage? 8.50?
12 or 14 point certified to 8.5, not a 25.3 cert to go under 8.5 (to go under 9.99 here it needs a cert). Just adding a couple upgrades of my own along the way for the future, you just never know.

Kept on the fab work today, dash bar is rough fit and turned out extremely well. I wore out the freshly aligned blade on the bandsaw today. It does a boomerang cut away from the table now, exact opposite of the previous problem so time for a new blade, damn chromoly tube is too expensive to mess around with...

The PROGRESS!!!

Also got the home fab T6 flange ready for plasma time. But sadly no pics. Tomorrow we shall get that done and begin the welding process.

Something something mini-tubs now?

There are some fast 275 cars. 😉

But you are probably right, eventually, phase 3? Maybe???

I've seen some people run fast in skinny jeans too...

But, I wouldn't try it.

I understand the big tire thing, but if a 275 for a 'go straight' car is easily in the 7's, then that's for me :friday:

My junk is never going to be within a second of that, so.............it fits in the wheel well, makes a bunch of tire smoke and I don't have to clean metal grinding out of my scalp and ears for a day or two - IT'S A WINNER!

Very nice progress Duke 🙂 🙂

Plus running street tires on a tubbed car looks like a dude who skips leg day.

Had a small setback today, and a small success.

I spent the morning running around looking for bandsaw blades, the usual place had a mislabeled 64.5" that was actually 58.5", so that cost me 2 hours, and they didn't have the right size. However it only took 3 cuts and it is Lazer straight now, so thats a win.

I had ordered a pulley that the internet thought would work for a slightly smaller truck accessory power steering pulley.

Dorman 300-130.

With the underdrive crank pulley, this would have been perfect.

But no...

After this, I had to service the girls mom-mobile and do the tire swap. So, no other success today.

Got a full day in the garage today. So the rear frame rail tie together/future parachute mount.

Some boring fab photos, pretty much start to finish today so if you wanted to do this, its super easy.

Make some measurements of the shocks mounts.

Mark, cut, drill, trim....

Got a few pretty welds with the tig on this stuff.

They both came out pretty good, nothing too special.

Add in the tie together bar.

Added some gussets and sprayed a quick layer of silver spray bomb on the ends, Its going to get black undercoat but I have to use up some of the junk spray cans i am hoarding.

Tomorrow the last stage of the cage starts. Looking forward to being done!.
