Got more checked off the list today. When I bought the tubing bender it came with a 1 3/4" die but no 1 5/8" die. I did the bend in the door bars with that thinking it would be ok, I was not satisfied with the results. So I ordered the correct JD2 1 5/8" die and it came in today. Its only a million times higher quality then the China dies.
Beautiful polished surfaces, stamped with die size on every part that goes with it. A thing of beauty really. I really am a tool wh*re. lol
I spent another 2 hours getting the band saw dial in, turns out the arm is a couple degrees off of square with the table but at least it cuts straight.
Good thing it was cheap.
After the tools were ready I got to cutting and bending new door bars. This is the rough fit stage, I was able to cut the previous door bars for the brace material and it fit perfect so I didn't waste any material.
I got everything to this point on both sides, More or less ready to weld out, maybe only some final fit up and fine tuning. It ended here because every battery I had for my dewalt tools was murdered in the drill notching tubing... I should probably be more diligent with charging.
Measured out the dash bar, figured out the bends but I am debating the routing. Still trying to plan the bars to the front and how I want to execute that next. Measured out and started cutting the plates for the rear bumper mounts to make a parachute bar/bracing.
