So, I did a thing...
I used to have a 79 403 T/A. When it finally rotted away, I stripped any good parts, and scrapped the body. This has been sitting around for about 15 years. Why? Because Hoarder, that's why...

I cleaned up, got some black vinyl dye, paint, and a leather wrap off Amazon for $10.

I got the smallest size wrap they had, but it was still a little big. Yeah, that's not going to work. Plus, the shiny looks cheesy.

So, I punched a new row of holes, and flipped it inside out, because suede. Out with the old

In with the new

Wellston, OK
1.5 pounds sounds low for a G body even with R134, I have charged mine to 85% of the original decal capacity and been very happy with the results. As I recall, it was little over 2.5 pounds with an R4 compressor.

The system from the Firebird says 24oz, so that's what I put in. It was working pretty well on 16. I almost wonder if it still has air, but vacuum is vacuum; how much is enough? I also did this:

This b*tch really does not want me to have air conditioning! It took a :poop: on the way home from work. Compressor kicks on and off unplugging the pressure switch. When I put the recharge gauge on, it pegs high. So done with this crap! GRRRRRR!

GOOD TIMES!!! The freakin' compressor went in spectacular fashion this morning. I hit the remote start, and heard a horrendous whirring/hissing sound which judging by the smell was the compressor clutch. I guess it locked up overnight? It was working last evening while I was trying to troubleshoot it. Man, I hope I caught it in time as that was all new stuff. It may have to just be another hot *ss summer with no AC.
