I would have thrown used junk at it forever. How much is a throttle body from the junk yard?
I wouldn't buy the whole TB. I'd just drill the rivets out, and rob the sensor. Problem is that all those cars are at the mileage limit for the sensor.

If you can get a new one, and you plan on driving it for another 100,000 miles or so, I’d just suck it up and get a new one. Yeah, sucks they’re so expensive, but it is what it is.

I might have a 3800 dbw tb sitting in my stash. If you want it pay shipping and it's yours.

Got one on the way, thanks. I'll take it if you clean the garage out and are throwing it away, though.

I'm keeping it unless I need it or someone else does. I am a bit of a hoader :p

GRRRRRR! Put the new throttle body on with my original, replaced MAF. The SES light came back on, so I assumed it was the TPS code again. Put the scanner on to clear it, and guess what, both O2 sensors! I figured I'd clean the fuel filter while I was playing with it, and it was a little dirty. Now, I'm wondering if the filter would cause all the codes by leaning out.... fingers crossed, wish me luck

Hey, ya know what will drive you batshit insane? When you fix your car all up, and the serpentine belt starts squealing- like went from a chirp to full on pig squeal. Thought it was the alternator, put the old one back on- no change. Started spraying brakleen thinking the little bit of coolant from the throttle body change was doing it. WD40'ed the backside of the belt- that worked a little, but not completely. Finally, I removed an idler that I had left in just because it went there. Squeal gone!

Also, had a nasty groan on decel and leaking pinion seal. The pinion nut wasn't as tight as it should have been, so replaced seal, changed the fluid, and tightened the nut properly. Smoov, like buttah now!
Also, today: changed the oil and rotated the tires. Found a bent outer tie rod end- that ain't good!!!!
Oh, and it's back to running good. I guess it was either the TPS or the fuel filter. I'll have to keep an eye on that bugger.

So, the HVAC blower motor quit. I had a brainfart in troubleshooting, and assumed the motor had gone bad. Here's the difference between an interior motor and exterior

I put a factory replacement 4 Seasons, Bonneville motor in thinking that was the problem

Turns out the rubber booted terminal was bad. GRRRRRR! So, I put a new female spade with heat shrink and diabolical grease.
