I would consider using DAP Weldwood contact cement. Mean stuff. You have to get it right the first time. They used to glue down formica countertops with this stuff.....

I was just reading the fact sheet for that DAP It is good up to 180 degrees

So I guess that is good enough for a hot summer interior?

I was looking up the veneer to metal.

All I could find was to use a silicone based adhesive.

Take a comb to even it out along the entire metal plate.

Finally take a milk crate or something similar filled with bricks or something heavy evenly distributed and sit it on iy until it's dry.
Yeah, I'm more concerned about the waves in the veneer. It has to be moistened, obviously, otherwise, the waves would crack like bubbles in a pizza crust. My buddy said he used a spray called Veneer Tamer, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.....

Yep, that was the plan. I've used it for bow-style headliners at the edge, and it holds up fine.
