but where can we buy good door handles at a reasonable price
Depends on what you mean.

If you simply want a handle at a reasonable price, you'll have to go with Chinesium. Sure, they'll work, for a while. My suggestion is to buy about 2 or 3 pairs of them. Put a couple up in the top of a closet in humidity controlled room, and keep them dry. Then, after a short time when the Chinesium starts pitting, you can replace them at your leisure. You might get lucky and it won't pit and peel. It's a crapshoot. There are currently NO aftermarkets to my knowledge that aren't made from Chinesium and can match up to the GM handles.

If you seek the GM stuff, pull out your wallet. Supply and demand dictates secondary market prices. The door handles have been discontinued for a good while. Normal going rate I've seen lately is around 90-100 per handle if you can find them. Sometimes more.

Many times a bent handle is a side effect of worn hinges (pins and bushings) and latches. Most common cause is failure to lubricate these parts. Then, the handle gets used to lift the sagging door, aggravating the situation.
Yes! If you are picking that long heavy door up by the handle to open it, its a problem. The handle should only 'pop' the door open.

Apparently nowhere. If you buy chineesium handles your promoting the fall of America by promoting the growth of China and the outsourcing of American jobs. If you buy NOS GM ones your promoting the fall of America through corporate greed and unfair capitalism. :wtf:
