Paint for car?

Before I paint my car I want to take it down to bare metal... I don't have a garage to store my car in right now! Would a car cover provide enough protection for a few months or do all car cover leak and would condensation get under it when water evaporates from the ground?

The car will surface rust almost immediately after you strip it if you leave it outside. You might be able to strip a panel at a time, then shoot it in epoxy primer to seal the metal back up. Plus, you can do all of your body work over top of epoxy.

Thanks for that info! I wasn't sure how important it was to epoxy prime the whole car at once or in sections.... So since it can be done in sections it should turn out fine as long as I cover the whole car slicksand later before I get ready for paint?

Yes sir. You don't have to use slick sand but it sure helps with making the car straight if you need it. Just make sure to scuff the epoxy good since you will be out of the recoat window.

When scuffing the epoxy what grit sand paper should be used or do you just use a scotch bright pad?

Just follow the directions on the tech sheet of whatever your putting over it. Whether its 2K high build primer or slick sand. Just follow the products tech sheet to a "T" and you wont have any issues my man.
