Planning Site Upgrade.... Need Feedback

I think some of this confusion lies in how we individuals land on this forum on our individual computers. I am on an iMac using OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 using Safari version 10.0. I type "gb" into my Safari address box - autocomplete finishes the gbodyforum address - I hit the return key and I'm at the front page. Other OSs and browsers might get here in other navigating twists that may need to be tweaked when and if the site architecture is altered, which I'm not saying it has been. I'm just trying to confuse things because that's just me.

I havn't had the problem again so it must have been when the server was being tweaked
