The 4th gen F body slave cylinders are spring loaded so the bearing will contact the pressure plate at all times. Installation to verify the equivalent of an old school air-gap is: compress the slave cylinder / bearing with fluid pressure opened up. Measure bearing height off the top of the trans. Measure the PP finger depth inside the rear face of the bellhousing and subtract bearing height. Between 0.100" and 0.225" is usually good. Shims can be used to achieve proper bearing height.
