Looking good Toby! I know we use alot of aircraft grade stripper to strip all that old scum off. Then we usually wire wheel and or DA the entire under carraige. Its a b*tch but its nice to know all the rust and old paint is gone.

Thanks Bobby, Ask larry if you get a chance if he puts seam sealer on the undercarriage of the body. I am trying to determine if I should seal up all the seams underneath, or would it cause problems if I did so by trapping moisture if I didnt get everything air tight.
I know for a fact we do both the upper and lower seams because I have had to help Kevin with it on more than one occasion.

So I got out a cold black phosphating kit I got from caswell plating and it worked very nicely. All the fasteners came out very nice. I thought it would be too good to be true for 50$ I could restore all the fasteners to original shape in 10 minutes, but it is true.

After 18 hours of welding and grinding I was able to get the underbody seam sealed and epoxy primed and por 15'd. I am soooooo glad this part is over. I I am looking forward to moving onto some engine work or other types of work. I just dropped $400 at rockauto for some suspension stuff and engine stuff. Will finish up putting the quarter patches in this week then move onto the engine or getting the frame lined with my new brake and fuel lines.

You know I thought about that as well. It wont be long and I will be setting the body onto the frame. But I still have some body work to be done on the side. I thought about leaving it on the rotisorie while I strip the rest of the paint and strip the inside of the floor pan of all paint as well. I guess it will be easier to strip paint while being able to rotate it around. These twirlers are the best thing invented to make the restoration go easier.

Lookin good. Any reason you switched from the Chassis saver on the interior to Por15 on the underside? Thats the 'Chassis coat black'?

Considering the condition of that car when you first got it, the bottom of that car looks absolutely amazing now. I'd be thinking about having a meal off it as well.

THanks for the compliments!

Here I was able to finish putting the lower quarter patch panel pieces in and placed rock guard into the wheel wells for a nice textured finish.
