BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

Yeah with the hot weather we've been having this week I laid the carpet outside for an entire day. It helped a little, but not as much as I was hoping for.

I saw a guy using a heat gun on carpet getting it to conform to the floor. Judicious use obviously
I have no clue if it works myself personally
It can. Typical is to set it out in direct sunlight for a few hours on a warm day to help when installing. That's how I've done my previous efforts. Some molded carpet set's fit better vs others as well. One might not need much if anything to keep it where it needs to be while another requires glue here & there.

I'm getting ready to do bucket seats and replace my carpet. Where did you order yours from? I though I saw a lot of guys use Stock Interiors for carpet.

I got it thru Rockauto. It's one of the only brands available. ACC. It's good quality. Make sure you get the mass backing. You'll regret it if you don't. It won't sit right. It's the jute on the back of the carpet. I bought the cut pile, not the essex. Make sure to use the discount code for 5% off too.

Oh and 64nailhead the Harbor Freight welding blanket works great 👍

I can now 2nd this. I bought two of the HF 4’x6’ blankets for $25 a piece. I damn near welded right on them up against my dash and they protected it. I left the driver seat and carpet in as well - they protected all of it. The eyelets in them are handy to zip tie to the cage, seat belt, antenna. I taped them to the paint and glass with 2” masking tape and that worked as well.

I will admit though, I don’t believe these are the toughest blanket out there, but for $25 to save you dash and upholstery, I would just buy another blanket or two.

Thanks for the tip, they saved me over the last couple of days.

Amazon specials. Cipher was the brand name. They will have to be replaced possibly next year unfortunately. No hole for the submarine belt to go thru. It's a shame because I actually like them and they fit me well. Plus they aren't just fabric, they are a "micro-suede"
