I’m glad you could save it. I hope it heals quickly! Years ago a guy at work intentionally put his finger in a press jam bar to collect on his D&D Insurance. He lost the whole finger and was successful in collecting 100k.

I had a 4 inch cut off wheel decide that centrifugal force was stronger and exploded. Of course the guard was off and so were my gloves. Big knuckle of middle finger. Filleted it open to the bone obviously. That finger still acts up on me.
I caught a cutoff wheel in a gap and it jumped and sawed through a leather glove and the callus on a left finger. I could see meat, but the glove saved me from stitches like yours.
In your case, a glove could have caught and sucked your whole hand in there. Glad you're still decadigital.
