I just got a twitch in my eye looking at all that paint work. Thanks.

Looking great as always.
When the paint work on the inside of the panels looks that good, imagine what the outside of it will look like.

Hey D, your level of perfection has once again provided me with renewed inspiration. It has inspired me so much I have decided to let a professional finish the final fitment and paint my SS. This will result in actually getting the car finished and being able to drive it which was the ultimate goal, Thanks again Donovan 😆😆

Eh, happy to help Brian!
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter who does the work, especially if you don’t have the time, patience or resources for it. Just ensure that whoever you’re trusting to do the work does a quality job.
Looking forward to the end result!

Great work, as always Donovan. I enjoy seeing the photos of your progress.

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate your interest in the build!

If you stare at stuff like this long enough, that twitch will go away entirely.
Or it won’t, it’ll just become a full fledged anxiety disorder, require hospitalization and treatment, followed by years of therapy. Either way...
😅

Thanks for the vote of confidence Jared! If I can pull this off in my garage with minimal resources and the extreme lack of space, just picture what I should be able to do with a real booth and some room to move!

So, when I strip the bottom of my doors down, can I shoot them with epoxy and still paint match that factory silver + clear? I guess it would not have to be perfect being the bottom of the door but it will drive me nuts if it's not . . .

I will likely hire this done. Just have to find someone that knows what they are doing here in Doo Dah. Already talked to one shop back 3-4 years ago when I first noticed the rust starting to bleed and they did not mention epoxy. Just strip/prime/paint.

Thanks [again]!

Thought I’d throw up some before and after pics of the fender.

Big difference!

Did some other “schtuff’ today, replaced the floor courtesy lights under the dash with LED’s to match the dome light, but no bueno on ones for the map lights.
Yet.

Not bad for only 3 little bulbs!

Also got back on the fender tonight after giving it time to cure, purposely bolted it down sticking outwards so I could block sand it without hitting the adjoining panels. It ain’t much to look at right now, but it’s straight and true, and that’s all that really matters.

Hit it with 120 to start with, then guide coated and went over it again with 180 just for good measure.

Now it’s ready for another round of masking and 3-4 more coats of high build.
