BUILD THREAD Project Olds Cool (Recognition!!)

I hate say it, but I can see the carpet coming out so you can get to the seat belt covers to look the same.

Looks great D - as always!

i'm speechless....

Donovan, your attention to detail, and your work continues to amaze me. Your car looks better than anything that would have come out of the factory, especially during those times. I thank you for posting the photo with the paint formula for the interior dye that you used. My Malibu also has the dark claret interior plastics in it, and I've been concerned about finding a matching dye for re-doing some of my interior pieces.

He’s just practicing so when I bring him my 85 body shell he just has to lay down the 19 black and 12 silver at the bottom. Then smooth it out. I’ll put a box of Benjamin’s in the trunk as incentive. Pretty much straight and rust free. 🙂
That's a helluva drive.🤣

The seat backs look awesome, Donovan, great job!

Thank you Mike! I’m very pleased with how they turned out.

Looking killer as always, dude! 😎
When does the body come off for a frame detailing?

Highly unlikely on this one brother. I’m reaching the end of the things I want to accomplish on this car believe it or not. Only a small handful of things left, then it’ll just be routine maintenance type stuff.

As anal retentive as I can be, that’s not about to happen Jim. They’re not bothering me one bit. I’ll replace the peeling lower chrome hinge covers on the seats and get the torn driver’s side seat panel fixed up, but that’ll be about it in those areas.

Wow what a great turn out! I wasn’t aware of the SEM texture product. As usual nice job.

Thank you sir, much appreciated! Hopefully you’ll find a use for the SEM product and the information I’ve provided here on your own projects in the future.

Appreciate it Darin, thank you!

My pleasure Jeff.
That’s why I go to the lengths I do when writing my posts, to try and convey as much useful info to you guys as possible. I know matching interior colors seems to be a particularly difficult problem for a lot of the guys, so why not share my successes with the ones that work? It’s no skin off my nose to do so, and I get the sense of satisfaction knowing I was able to help somebody else out in small way.

Ooofa. As tempting as you make it sound, that’s still a pile ‘o work and a long, long ways from home. Maybe if I was single, independently wealthy, had no roots here and nothing but time on my hands.... of which I unfortunately have none of.
Still, who am I to crush a guy’s hopes and dreams?
😉😁

Thanks for all the wonderful comments and compliments every time gents. I really do appreciate each and every one. Y’all are the best.

D.

No worries. I'll bring it to YOU. 🙂
