BUILD THREAD Project Olds Cool (Recognition!!)

Mission accomplished on the passenger side rocker panel undercoating yesterday.
Which then lead into this mess.
I noticed some white paint on the front inner wheelwell, and thought it might just be some old road marking paint. So I started trying to clean and remove it.
Imagine my surprise when, instead of the white paint coming off, BLACK paint came off instead revealing more white paint underneath!
Turns out, the f**king morons at the fly-by-night autobody shop that painted the car before me didn’t even bother to mask off the inner wheelwell!
Just brilliant guys. FFS.
So rather than dorking around all night, I masked off the painted fender edge, and hit the whole mess with sprayable paint stripper and let it eat.
After an hour or so of scraping the mess off with a small plastic spreader and cleaning the remnants with a couple rags and lacquer thinner, I got it looking back to how it’s supposed to: bare black plastic with no crap on it:
These half-wit, corner cutting hacks, I tell ya what. I’d love to have 5 minutes alone in an empty room with some of them. Just creating more work for everyone else on down the line after they’re done. Never enough time to do it right the first time, but always enough time to go back and do it twice.
Anyways, rant over. In other news, my new LEDs for the console box came in yesterday...
...and they are BRIGHT!!!
Very pleased with that purchase, now just waiting on some other ones for the map lights in the dome light.
Going to go clean up and reinstall the passenger side rocker moulding and take the car back down off the jack stands before having to return to work tomorrow.

And they won't melt and brown the lens! That is a great upgrade. Gotta do that myself to the silver car...

It's an alignment mark for the huge mudflaps he's going to install. 🙂
