QUIT MY JOB TODAY

well went in today and quit my job.i was a residential plumber with the company 11 years today. work has been slow for the last couple years. average 28-30 hours a week. the last straw was the last 2 weeks i only got 13 hours in. so i decided to give it up. in search of a new company to work for. wife wasn't happy but time for a change.

thanks chevy2480. i already put my name in the union hall. it might take awhile but i got a side job to tide me over for awhile.

When i quite my plumbing job i went and got a maintenance job ayt Kroger. Been here 5 years and love it!!!

yeah thats what a few of the guys here do. it suxs here cuz we have to have a Iowa and Illinois license . we have about 123 ppl on the list at the local hall. but nobody wants to do service work.

I hope it works out for you. I am a manager/bookkeeper for a plumbing/hvac company here in nj. they so mistreat their people - I call it the "wheel of torture". It gets pretty bad. Last week it was me, this week so far its others. But they know they can get away with it. The job market here is terrible. I've been looking for years and even with my credentials and references I barely get interviews. And if I do the pay is worse than what I get now, so I go to work and put up with it. I really do hope things work good for you and this is a start moving on up. (insert Jeffersons theme song here)
