Not to throw water on the fire but........ Seems everyone who is new to the forum has grand plans of LS//4LE, Ford 9 in and assorted other $$$$$$$$$$ parts. Mechanically Challenged but motivated will cost you a bunch of $$$$ since you will get to a point (specially on an LS swap) that you will be over your head. That is why so many garages are full of dream builds that are only a place to stack boxes on. IMO: Don't bite more than you can chew. Good Luck!

thanks for the heads up...I admit that I don't have experience with a swap even that I'm in over my head but it won't be the first time. I will be happy once I finish the swap. I will keep posting progress and be thankful for everyone that shares their experience.

One of the main things to remember when doing any project on your car is things cost more than expected, take longer then planned and NOT to get discouraged. You have a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips.

Garages like I said before are full of good intentions and discourgaed out of money owners. There are several on my street that are good looking box shelves!

Just caught up on your thread. Looks like decent progress. As others have mentioned, don't force yourself into a corner with a deadline. My Cutlass resto started as a suspension upgrade that ended up taking 8 or 9 years to finish the body off! I did a 5.3/80E swap myself (not my 1st engine swap luckily), and alot of the resto myself. Now its on jsckstands getting a rear disc upgrade, new posi, front coilovers and such.
This hobby is expensive, but rewarding with pride if you keep focused and get it done. Take your time, rushing will always cause errors and issues. Here are a couple pics for motivation...

Injectedcutty, thanks for the advice and motivation. You have a sweet Cutlass, I was thinking of going with a color similar to yours but settled with a bronze but that's for another day. I'm taking my build one day at a time and there are moments that I see something else that could use restoring but I remind myself that I need to keep focus on the steps I'm on now. Eventually I will get to them.
