Rear end G body compatible?

trying not to argue here but I talked to someone I know that sets up rears - he kind of backed up the variance in size I elluded to earlier .... the difference in width is more like 4" per side. May I ask where you got 60" and where it's measured from?

what B body years are you talking about?

the quotes I dropped from the B-body forum should be sedans .... the smaller 77-91 and 92-96 variants.

I dunno if the difference wheel mounting to wheel mounting versus flange to flange is 5" - 6" or not (I'd assume 3.5" - 4" but that's totally assumption and we all know assumptions are often VERY wrong), but still 58" wheel mounting to wheel mounting is still quite a bit narrower than 61.65" - 62.91" flange to flange. Anyone actually got a loose B-body differential?

I had one, I was going to use it in my bu until I saw how far off the geometry was, it was a tad over 2 inches wider than a G body rear. I can't remember an exact, and it was quite a few years ago I went through all the BS of figuring out exactly what back spaced wheel I needed, But I do remember that a 15" olds SSIII would have fit under the car (if it had 5x5).

2" -4" difference would be VERY doable - but I keep reading and hearing it's more and well I sure don't wanna be the guinea pig, but I need something to replace my 7.5" peg leg ASAP.
