you can;t box the uppers, the OEM uppers are designed to twist to prevent bind. Here is a picture of an elongated hole on an upper control arm that was boxed. The hole was deformed due to the binding caused by the upper being prevented from twisting.

I didnt know that. Thanks

Most of the binding you hear about concerning poly bushings is from overtightening, If you torque poly to factory rubber torque specs you will bind it, meaning you will smash the mounts against the face of the poly bushing and cause all kinds of problems.

What torque adjustment do you recommend, say as a percent vs factory rubber spec? Thanks.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm with going umi adjustable uppers with the rotos for now. Then wait and get the umi boxed lowers with the rotos.

Has anyone used sphon performance upper controls arms they are $40 cheaper than umi and have some of the same features

person asks what brand....10 people tell him the same brand...person still tries to ask about different brands....

such is life lol.

No seriously, UMI. Don't fight it.

Other things can work, other things do work, other things are cheaper. Don't buy them. Buy UMI. If saving money is your thing, save up your money...then buy UMI. lol.

I usually spec 60 ft-lb nominal. I actually don't know the factory rubber spec, unfortunately.

Factory manual for rubber, torque on bushing nuts ....

Front: upper arm 85 lb-ft, lower arm 65 lb-ft
Rear: 70 lb-ft (except upper arm at differential housing, which is 73 lb-ft)

So 60 lb-ft sounds reasonable.

Energy Suspension just says the "factory service manual" is "recommended" for "proper torque specifications."
