I had given away my last one to James as I thought I wasn't going to go the serpentine route. I have since gotten the itch to do the serpentine thing again. Since I have two Oldses, I figured that I'd get two more pumps. Even though the box says "new water pump", it seems they are rebuilt units. The two I got are two different castings.

And two different impellers

Here is one next to a stock Olds normal rotation pump

Obviously, the gasket is different and they both came with the correct gasket.

Are those serp kits still available? I can't remember who it was even though we communicated a few times over the years and I haven't done a search.

Anyway, I have two engines on stands and it would be nice to get the serp thing together...

Now that I am looking at them more closely, are the impellers on the reverse rotation ones backwards? They seem to be the same as the normal rotation type even though they are supposed to turn the opposite direction.

Hope James will chime in with a pic of one the reverse rotation ones he has...

Larry Lorton and Pacific G bodies have the adapter brackets for Olds to use the sbc truck serpentine belt drives. When I pull the knocking 350 with the serpentine setup, I am tracing the adapter brackets. I may copy or will just buy another set in aluminum. Great part about buying another 88 to 95 350 TBI GMC truck to convert to Olds V8 power, it will have the necessary serpentine setup. I bought this Flowkooler pump and plan on another. I have one like your open impeller one, will keep as a spare. On the 424 especially, I want maximum cooling.

It doesn't look quite the same as yours. What is the Flowkooler part number?

Yes, that is it. I waited a month, another member on here waited even longer. Supposedly the wait was on a casting for them to add their impeller to. I'm not sure why the back picture is wrong.

I guess I could send the two castings I have to them and have them press the old impeller off and press the new impeller on.

If there is any delay when I want another, I may do the same. Yeah, you are dealing with two harder to cool motors in Florida. How much the closed impeller helps is questionable but Olds used it in all heavy duty cooling applications.
