Doesn't matter though as I have given up. I have yet to meet a woman my age that is worth my time or attractive.
reminds me of a couple quotes...

one from a movie we all know... "you're putting the p*ssy on a pedistal"

and one from my uncle... "gotta test drive the vega before you buy the vette"

I lived in a house with two other guys, there was always an issue at meal times, friends over, ect...
Who is cooking what, who is eating what, who ate the last of what, who paid for what, where is the box of what, there is no coffee, booze, toothpaste, toilet paper... this is all the stuff you are going to hear.

Work schedule, bathroom schedule, sleep schedule, who is coming over until what time, who is cutting the lawn today, why is my favorite coffee mug broken, who forgot to lock the back door. I always watch that show on this night.. partying until 4 am... wtf?!?! simple things that never bothered me before now did.. where is my razor? why is the cap off the toothpaste.. Did you clean the shower after you Jacked? WTF!!!!

I got out of the shower one day and my roomates girl friend was sitting on the couch.. I was the only one home.. WTF?!!? If she was cute I wouldn't have cared... I know I locked the door...

Be prepared..

Well, any alcohol in the house he is welcome to as I do not drink (or smoke, or do drugs). I am also the only one who drinks coffee, so that is not an issue. There are two bathrooms in the house, both of which are expected to be clean at all times. I get the master, he gets the guest. I have informed him that I will be regularly inspecting things to be sure they are up to my standards. As for yard work, I will be posting a calendar with the weeks clearly marked as to who cuts the grass. I will do all landscaping work myself though as I do not trust anyone else with it. Dishes are expected to be cleaned daily and I will be checking on that as well. As for other people, he knows that I expect to be notified if anyone is coming over. After all, this is not just a rental for me. I actually own the house. If it does not work out, I will reserve the right to tell him to leave.

I'm considering myself VERY lucky at this point , a wife of 20+ yrs. who by the way is as hot now as she was when we met , three good kids , my own home and a couple of cars to play with .

keep your chin up 85 Brougham .

Well, I let my friend move in last night and I can already see a huge problem. He smokes and I don't. I didn't think it would be an issue, but even with him smoking outside the house reeks of it bad enough that it actually woke me up! If I can't find a way to keep the house from smelling I will have to ask him to leave. He says he wants to quit, so maybe...I dunno... I need the cash, but I can't have my house smelling that bad. If he quits he can stay otherwise I guess I will have to help him find other accommodations.

i did smoke for a little while while living with a non smoker. i was a very light smoker at that time though. i would keep the pack in my car and only smoke on my way to and from work or if i went to the store or something.

maybe if he is wanting to quit, that may be an option, to get him to cut down/quit and keep the odor from the house. maybe he can only smoke in his vehicle. it'll cut down his smoking if he wants to quit, and keep the smell from the house.

Well, I tried to broach the subject, but he wouldn't even discuss it and instead left in a huff like a petulant child. This was not what I wanted, but whatever. I even offered to buy the nicotine patches for him to help him stop, but he would not be reasoned with. After all, all I wanted was to come to a workable compromise, not for him to leave. But again, whatever. So, I vented out the house and once again I live alone. At least the house does not smell like an old motel room, which is what it was smelling like this morning. My house normally smells either like cleaning products or maybe just a tinge of a garage scent. Menthol cigarette stench would not be something I could live with.

He also wanted to put a weight bench in the room on my pristine carpeting and could not understand why I thought it a bad idea! Yes, rust, metal and oil on my carpets in a room that has barely been used since they were put down is a bad idea to me, but that makes me the bad guy. I just wish I could find a normal person to rent to, but it seems like they do not exist-at least within my circle of relationships.
