that is not the point, the point is they sold you something other than what they described. Unless they informed you at point of sale that the pan may be damaged and contain rust they need to replace it or provide a refund...it was a new pan, not a kinda new pan

Not surprising with KMJ garbage. The old saying "get what ya pay for" really applies to them. Ironically enough I bought a KMJ oil pan for my 496 years ago and it rusted through the zinc coating while it sat on the stand. By then it was a year or so after I bought it so it was on me.
Also had a pair of chrome sbc valve covers from them that I'm not sure I made it a month before the chrome started flaking.
