was there any consideration for a 3 link system in the rear?.
Yea, or an independent rear suspension setup?

EDIT: Nevermind. Overlooked your last post somehow.

Would I get my money back if I sold it today. Probably not, but it not for saleand never will be. Would I build another? In a heartbeat.
That applies to most of us and our cars too. I get it  .

i checked out their site. really nice looking but out of the price range for budget motorheads like me. i think i'll be sticking with my factory frame for the life of the car.

My reason for stepping up and doing this build? My wife and I were going to purchase a new Camaro RS this spring. Last year while at the CARCRAFT Nationals in St. Paul, I approached Schwartz about why no chassis were available for the g body. They said they had several inquiries but no one step up with a car and a check. Upon getting a price for chassis #1, and what I would receive, my WONDERFUL wife said, anyone can buy a Camaro this willbe one of a kind. The followong Monday a deal was struck. I have less money in this Monte vs a 2012 Camaro and will have more power and better handling when all said and done.

If investing that kind of money was what you decided to do instead of purchasing a new car..........Great! If someone is going to spend 11k on a frame plus Paint, interior, drivetrain, wheels, etc. they are going to have easily another 10K probably 15k (your not going to put 11k in a frame, run a 1K motor and a Maaco paint job) in the car. For 25-26K, personally I would buy vintage iron. Most of these G bodies are worth about 6K tops. Sure there are exceptions, but they are pretty rare and therefore make resale extremely difficult. Resale on a 69 Camaro @ 25K will be a lot easier than a 25K G body. I know you said you didn't do it for resale and you plan on keeping it. That's great too! Fact is most of us have to keep resale in mind just in case life leads us to selling it, willing or not. It's probably the guys such as yourself that do have the means to put that kind of money in a car that has gotten the aftermarket to move forward with producing parts for these cars. For that I thank you! The whole reason for working on a G body for me is ...........they are cheap. IMO they are about the last car out there that you can still purchase reasonably and not break the bank building. Once they have reached the point where the "average" guy can't afford to build them, this hobby will be pretty much lost for me. So, I guess I better hang on to what I have!

Not many of us look at cars as an investment. Sure he put alot of money into his car but like he said he's not intending on selling it. As long as he and his family enjoys it then it's worth it to him and his family. I think it's alot better than wasting money on a new Camaro, plus it will handle better and be quicker than an RS.

if a person has a car and intends to sell it they use bondo, earl sheib/macco paintjobs and hacked together parts. they dont use frames that cost over 10K to start.

i always saw using that much money as an investment into your own enjoyment of the car not necessarily to sell the car. i havent seen a cheaply bought used car with quality parts and labor put into them. you just dont usually see that.

you are investing when you put money into your car, the reason for the investment is what changes from person to person. i put as much as i can into mine when i can but i refuse to settle for second best. if i know i can afford it down the road, i just wait till i have the money saved up rather than spending a little less in the here and now for less gains in whatever, performance, looks, comfort, you get the idea.

my car is an investment to my motoring happiness.

I was speaking of it being an investment for monetary gain. For personal enjoyment with my car it's more of a madness than an investment...

yes, it epitomizes the "if money was no object" concept. after that you'd have to make sure the car had plenty of security of some kind. last thing you want is to put that kind of money into your car just to have some young punk steal it, joy ride it and then wrap it around a tree because they suck at driving.
