The 6" cowl hood for my car is designed as a pin on hood with no mounting points for the latch or hinges, I looked at those before I bought my 4" bolt on.what about a 6" cowl hoodhttps://pitstopusa.com/i-23920546-harwood-81-88-monte-carlo-hood-w-6-cowl.html
I've done quite a lot of shopping around for hood scoops, that one looks like the one Unlimited sells. They have a 67 Corvette Stinger scoop that is a little bigger and probably blend in much nicer. I used one on a previous project.Your engine is pretty enough go toppless! Is your hood fiberglass or steel? If it was me I would build and graft the hood to your liking.
Topless been there and done that, the hood is a fiberglass Harwood.Your engine is pretty enough go toppless! Is your hood fiberglass or steel? If it was me I would build and graft the hood to your liking.
I looked at Unlimited's scoops and their Stinger but like most scoops it is 2" wider than my cowl.I've done quite a lot of shopping around for hood scoops, that one looks like the one Unlimited sells. I definitely think it would look better being wider and haven't ruled out attempting something like that, just not sure how comfortable I would be doing the fiberglass work. What about dissecting it or however you'd feel most comfortable doing it... and expanding it to the edges of the original cowl hood or tapering it in gradually, or even a small step. I think it is just to slim, and looks like an afterthought.
