100 is too course to spray over... way to course. Either re sand it with 400 or put a couple of coats of paint on it and when it dries say 5 or 6 hours stick it in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Then, when it cools sand again with 400, paint again and bake again. finish flows out nice.

Is there a reason you're partial to Rustoleum? Recommend you use a good auto paint like VHT. They make a very good product.

* Thanks very much. I believe Rust-Oleum shall suffice. I may have tried VHT in the past and was not too keen on its properties.

Fini: 1 Coat Primer and 2 coats Rust-Oleum. Used 400 grit over primer and 600 grit over 1st coat of enamel. Came out fairly well. Could use another coat but the surface is very hard and the paint is 'excellent'. I'm glad I used the Semi-Gloss and not the gloss. Perfect color match. It looks far better than what the photo shows: i.e > dust specks and light red glare from camera.
