Across the A/G listings for '79-'81 (2nd design for '79) list the rod as 14008223 & swivel as 3840845. Any model, any engine. This will be what the reproduced ones will be based off of.
Here's a link to the '76-'81 Chevy, Pontiac, Olds & Buick parts books.

As per parts fitting in general, the A/G Grand Am may suffer from the same issue as the A/G Cutlass Supreme, nothing fits according to the aftermarket parts catalogs. Just say it's a LeMans & it should work out.

pagrunt - thank you for the info!

Built6spdMCSS - that thought has crossed my mind more than once. However, isn't mandatory that if I go that way I'd also have to install a 5 speed? ;^)

Good evening. I made a 32 second video file of the car running, trying to capture the squeal I mentioned yesterday. Unfortunately, it appears that the file is too large to load. Any thoughts?

As little movement you give that Fork and it goes away, sounds like the Throw Out Bearing just scuffing the fingers and it either stops, or the whole thing is spinning in the Fork and stops when you move it.

Lengthen the clutch rod until the noise goes away.

Then let it find its destiny 😉 Sounds like you have some spare parts available if anything goes awry.
